About Rainybank Collies
|

Rainybank Collies is located in Sultan WA, 45 minutes Northeast of Seattle. We do not have a big farm (yet). We have a nice house with a big yard and a wonderful family.
You can contact us at rainybankcollies@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you. Even though we aren't planning any litters for a few years, we still like to hear from Collie owners or prospective Collie owners.
We got our first Collie as a family pet. Very quickly we realized how wonderful these dogs really are. They are intelligent, friendly, and willing to do whatever you tell them. Easy to house-train, easy to Obedience train, and they love children.

Currently we train our Collies in agility, obedience, and packing. They are our constant companions and make our lives more enjoyable. Every few years we plan to have a litter. We will be seeking out the best Collies for breeding. We look for intelligence in our dogs as well as beauty.
Also, we will be making sure they are all MDR-1 negative, free of Collie Eye Anomaly. We will strive to keep them free from Hip Dysplasia. Although this is a bit harder to do since it doesn't always show up until they are older.

One of the problems we, and all Collie breeders, have is with ears. Our dogs meet the AKC standard except for the ears. These have to be taped and glued to get them right.
We primarily rescue purebred rough and smooth collies. A few other types of dogs have passed through our doors. All find good homes. We feel there are plenty of dogs available and many purebreds that are unwanted for one reason or another. We only breed our Collies once every two years.

Rainybank Collies is dedicated to raising the best quality Collies possible. While we have rescued dogs in the past, we are not really the best suited to do this. We recommend that you contact an official Animal Rescue Group. We have many rescued dogs already and are not equipped to handle any more at this time.
