Agility
Michael trains our dogs and runs them in agility. This is time consuming but fun. We also enjoy watching others run agility. In this first picture, Charlotte is demonstrating that she can 'stay' when told. She and Holly both allow Michael to lead out very far.

Charlotte has achieved her Novice Jumpers Prefered title. She was on haitus from agility while she had puppies. We started again training in September 2006. She doesn't really seem as interested as she used to be. So we decided to retire her from active Agility. Now she just trains with Michael at home and attends shows to keep Holly company.

Charlotte in one of her uncharacteristic 'downs'. She really hates laying down on the agility table. Holly doesn't mind but she has been taught from an earlier age.

Holly has both her Novice titles and her Open Standard title. She managed to get her Novice Standard title in three consecutive shows. We are now working on her Open Jumpers title. She has a bit of a problem with weave poles. They un-nerve her in public. But she is slowly getting over this. She has managed to get through all twelve weave poles many times in class.

We have figured out our camera issues and can now take much better pictures. We are learning more each show.

Holly enjoys agility so much that we plan to continue until she can no longer perform. While Charlotte doesn't like to jump and hates sitting or laying on the table, Holly has none of these problems.

Michael has made almost all of our agility equipment using simple PVC and some glue. In some cases he used plywood and 2x4s. He is willing to give you the plans for these simple training tools or even build them for you.

You can see some of our jumps on the left. These can be either 3 feet wide for training or 4 feet wide for the official AKC standard. He also makes weave poles, pause tables and contact trainers. Email us at rainybankcollies@gmail.com for prices or information.

We had to rearrange our Agility training area. The new arrangement seems to work well. Aurora and Holly are ok with the new arrangement. They think it's wonderful to have all this equipment available to them all the time. They run around having a great time.

We have 6 jumps, one tire, standard weave poles, training weave poles, weave wires, a table, and a contact trainer. These are all home-made. There is a small problem with our new arrangement. Charlotte refuses to do anything but the contact trainer and the table now. She doesn't like the change. Holly, on the other hand, doesn't mind any of it.
