Today they are celebrated at Scottish Highland Games throughout the world along with many other Celtic breeds from Scotlan, Ireland and England. Our family is of Scottish descent. We are from Clan Hunter. This is not a very common clan in America and is not well represented at the Highland Games The Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games and Clan Gathering has an arena set aside every year for showing dogs. There are displays by various breeders, Agility demonstrations, herding demonstrations and ratting demonstrations. At the beginning of the games, there is a parade of marching bands, all the clans and the dogs from the Celtic Kennel. We have been going to the games for several years and became involved in the Celtic Kennel in the last few years. We encourage you to come and visit the games and take a look at the wonderful dogs in the Celtic Kennel. Collies are not the only breed that takes part in the games. There are all kinds of Terriers and Retrievers as well as some lesser known breeds. It is a great opportunity to meet various kinds of dogs. The games are typically the last weekend in July.
