We raise and breed Working Collies. This means they are more than just Conformation show pieces. Our Collies compete and are trained in other events. As we get more familiar with the events out there, we will be competing in more events. These include Conformation, Agility, Backpacking, Herding, and Obedience.

We also attend the Highland Games every year, hold birthday parties for our dogs, attend organized dog walks and generally just have fun with our dogs.

All these events will be listed here. Have fun seeing all the fun things you can do with your dogs.

Agility
We compete in agility on a regular basis. We have only been training and competing for the past few years so still have a lot to learn.

Our dogs have achieved many titles and seem to have a great time competing. They love to run and jump.

Currently we have two dogs competing in Agility, Holly and Aurora. Charlotte was the first to be trained in Agility but she decided she didn't like it so we stopped with her.

You can see our latest trial information in these pages.

Backpacking
Michael really enjoys backpacking and he has decided to bring the dogs along. They love the opportunity to get out into the woods and tramp around for a few hours.

We ended up buying dog packs for Holly and Charlotte. We will also be buying one for Aurora because she loves the outdoors as much as the others.

Michael and the dogs have been to many interesting places. You can check out this section to see where they have gone.

Organized Dog Walks
In 2007 we decided to start attending organized dog walks designed to raise money for various animal rescue groups and Humane Societies.

We treat these like the packing outings with the dogs wearing their backpacks. There is one added benefit, these walks typically have other associated events that are fun to do.

Conformation
Charlotte and Paisley were our conformation dogs. Paisley was a Canadian Champion but by the time she came to us, her health had failed and she could no longer be shown.

Charlotte did well in the show ring but with her ears not tipping properly, she didn't make it very far.

We are looking towards the future and planning to show our next puppy in Conformation. Check out this section to see how our next dog does.

Obedience
This is a new world for us. While we have always taught our dogs basic obedience, we have never tried formal obedience. I think we will try rally obedience as well because it is similar but more interesting.

Charlotte will be starting formal obedience training in May 2008. She is very responsive to this kind of training. She doesn't like to jump but this will be just what she needs.

Celtic Kennel
Ever since I was a small child, I attended the Highland Games. We went to the games in California, where I grew up. Then, as we moved across country, we attended the games in various other states.

One year, Cindi contacted the Celtic Kennel to see if we could participate. They welcomed us happily and we have been going every year ever since.

Birthdays
We started a tradition with the first year anniversary of our first litter. Every year we have a birthday party for the dogs. This falls on the birthday of the most recent litter of puppies. This way we, and all the other owners, get to see how the puppies have grown and matured.

This is a very fun event. Basically we have a Barbeque with cake for the dogs and a nice romp at the off-leash area afterwards. Everyone always has a great time.

Family Trips
Even dog filled families need to get away once in a while. We like to travel and plan to continue travelling through the years. Whenever possible, we will bring our dogs with us.

Sometimes this isn't possible. Those times we get a dog-sitter to stay with out family and make sure all is well.

We will post photos of our travels in this section.

4 - H
This year Alix decided to try out 4 - H. She really enjoyed herself.

She trained with her dog Aurora but ended up taking Holly to the Evergreen State Fair because Aurora had just recently whelped some puppies.

At the fair, Alix and Holly did extremely well, taking many first places and Champion ribbons. She will be moving on to the State level at the Puyallup Fair.
