Charlotte's Litter - 2006

Charlotte tested normal/normal for MDR1 Multi-Drug Sensitivity mutation.
Charlotte had a litter of 9 puppies on April 24th, 2006. She was bred to a beautiful Rough blue merle boy named Easy, owned by Paula Lysinger of Gold Hill Collies in Oregon.
Easy, the puppies' father is also MDR1 normal/normal. This means the puppies are not MDR1 carriers and will not pass this on to their offspring. Only 1 in 4 collies is a non-carrier of the MDR1 mutation. For more information on MDR1 visit the Washington State University MDR1 site.

One puppy was weak and did not survive the second day. All other puppies did great. There were 4 Tri-color and 4 Blue Merle, 3 boys and 5 girls. See below for more information.
All puppies were examined for health and quality.
We performed the Superdog Stimulation Training with this litter. This is supposed to increase their inteligence and make them more adaptable. It also improves their emotional state and health.

Litter progress

September 20, 2006 - Dawn, the last puppy, went to her new home. She now lives in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada. Her new owners are very happy with her and have changed her name to 'Sasha'
September 2, 2006 - Skyler finally went to his home in Germany. On our end everything appeared to go well but there were some paperwork problems we only found out about after his arrival in Germany. But he is safe and sound in his new home.
August 9, 2006 - Haily has been sold. She has gone to her new home in Snoqualmie, WA.

August 4, 2006 - Kierra has been sold. She has gone to her new home in Woodinville, WA.
July 23, 2006 - Skyler has been sold. He will need to stay with us until September then he will go to his new home, also in Germany.
July 2, 2006 - Aeryn and Chrichton went to their new homes. They will be living in Germany. Soon we will put info about their new homes on our site.

June 26, 2006 - We updated our pet Collie contract
June 25, 2006 - The first of the puppies has gone home with his new owners! We are very sad to see him go. His new owners have changed his name from Draco to Duke.
June 19, 2006 - All the puppies have been seen by Dr. Terri L McCalla and certified CEA free.

June 11, 2006 - Wow are they active! They love chewing on feet and shoes. We are trying to get them slightly house trained.
June 5, 2006 - We have added the pedigree for the puppies so you can view it.
June 2, 2006 - They are starting to play more. We have been letting them outside to play more often. They are eating well and starting to get out of their pen on their own.
May 28, 2006 - The puppies are starting to show their personalities. They are beginning to play more and have fun with people. The Superdog Stimulation Training seems to have done wonders. These are very calm puppies. We can even pick them up and lay them on their backs without complaint.

May 20, 2006 - We let the puppies out in the yard to play for the first time. They really enjoyed it and romped all over the place. I got some good up close photos.
May 7, 2006 - The puppies are starting to move around a bit more. You can just see some of their ears opening.

Aurora is the one puppy from this litter that will be staying with us. She is beautiful and intelligent and will make a fine addition to our family. We plan to breed Aurora in the summer of 2008.

Much like her namesake, Hailey is a fiery body that leaves a trail of toys in her wake. Hailey is the smallest of the puppies but by no means the wimpiest. She is a fiesty little girl who can easily hold her own with the other pups as well as the big dogs. She loves to play and is very smart. She is easily taught and learns quickly. Hailey loves to cuddle and of all the puppies, seems to adore children the most. She actually goes out of her way to meet and greet them!
