Winnie was purchased by Claudia Schumacher and Claudia Schmidt from Germany. They purchased him long after the other two Collies, Jule and Torin, had gone to Germany.

They purchased him for their breeding program because of his MDR-1 status. This is a problem in Germany as well as the United States and they are attempting to breed MDR-1 normal/normal dogs.

After purchasing Winnie, they decided not to change his registered name from "Azure Skies" because they thought it fit him well and sounded good. Winnie is the most loving and cuddly of all the puppies in Charlotte's litter. He has a beutiful smile that he got from his mother.

Winnie had a little difficulty getting into Germany. All his papers were in order but there were other problems.
|
|
|
Once he arrived in Germany, the airline kept him in the crate for several hours. Apparently he was slightly dehydrated and needed badly to urinate but had to wait. Also, there was a veterinarian at customs that had to check the dog before he could be allowed to leave the airport.

Always with a winning smile, Winnie greets his humans. He is a very happy boy and loves to play in the fields. He has a very soft coat and likes to snuggle.

He currently lives with Rike in Fulda, Germany. His name has changed from "Skyler" to "Winnie the Pooh", Winnie for short, because of his lovable, cuddly nature.

We are in regular contact with Rike Schumacher, Winnie's best friend, so the information here should be relatively up to date. We also get imformation through Pia Biber, Torin's owner, and Claudia Schumacher.

Winnie has been studded out to a kennel in Austria. He was bred to a Smooth Tri-color bitch named Amy von Sconau. You can check out the information on the Von Sconau website. They expect puppies in April. Two of the puppies are already earmarked as "therapy dogs" for handicapped people in wheelchairs. |

Winnie is now a father! He was bred to a Smooth Tri-Color bitch named "Ribbie" They had 7 puppies, 4 blue merle and 3 tri-color. |

Winnie was bred to a Tri-Color Smooth bitch named "Ribbie". Hopefully, they will have puppies. He had his hips checked and received an A1 rating. The best in Germany is A0. |

Winnie attended his first conformation show in Munchen, Germany. He recieved a "V1", the best possible result. |
